We regret to announce that the baby growing inside “Yun Yun,” the red panda whose pregnancy had been confirmed, was unfortunately stillborn.

The entire staff at Adventure World had been carefully monitoring the situation in anticipation of the birth of a new red panda—the first at Adventure World in about eight years. However, during an ultrasound examination a few days ago, the fetal heartbeat could not be detected. Although we continued to monitor the situation closely, a stillbirth was confirmed on Wednesday, July 8.
Currently, “Yun Yun” is in good health and is resting calmly.Moving forward, we will prioritize “Yun Yun’s” own recovery and continue to provide her with the utmost care.

As this was the oldest pregnancy on record in Japan—her first at the age of 9—we have received many warm messages of encouragement from so many of you via social media and other channels. Although we were unable to welcome the new life together with you, “Yun Yun” did her very best to nurture the baby in her womb until today. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has lovingly watched over and supported her throughout this time.
