At Adventure World, the Emperor Penguin chick born on September 30, 2025, will reach 100 days old on Thursday, January 8, 2026. To celebrate this milestone in its growth and to showcase its journey from birth to today, we will hold a special event titled "Touch, Learn, and Watch Over."
　On the day, in addition to a lecture by our animal care staff reflecting on the baby's 100 days of growth, we plan to take the baby on its very first walk in the outdoor enclosure. Furthermore, we will offer touch experiences where you can feel the baby's uniquely soft, fluffy down feathers—which are shed as it grows—and even touch the eggshell.
　Please note that the current gray down plumage can only be seen for a limited time until around early January. As molting progresses and the bird reaches the "subadult" stage, it will begin swimming practice in the pool alongside our animal care staff. We kindly ask for your continued warm support as this baby bird grows.

Scientific Name: Aptenodytes forsteri
English Name: Emperor Penguin
Habitat: Antarctic continent and surrounding areas
Lifespan: Approximately 30 years
Diet: Fish, squid, krill, etc.At Adventure World, they are primarily fed large rockfish and Pacific saury.
Breeding: Only two species breed on the Antarctic continent: the medium-sized Adélie penguin and the Emperor penguin.while Adélie penguins breed during summer when rocky areas become exposed after snowmelt, emperor penguins begin breeding on winter ice fields where temperatures can reach minus 60 degrees Celsius. They raise their chicks through a period of fasting lasting approximately 120 days, earning them the title of "the bird with the world's most demanding parenting." They reach sexual maturity at around 5 years of age.After laying her egg, the female returns to the sea to forage, while the male remains at the breeding site, fasting and incubating the egg for about two months.
Characteristics: The world's largest penguin, reaching about 120 cm in length and weighing about 40 kg. It is characterized by the vivid yellow on its sides of the head and upper chest. It is also the only penguin with patterned chicks; from birth until their first molt, they display a tri-color pattern of white, black, and gray.Adult Emperor Penguins closely resemble King Penguins, but King Penguins are smaller, measuring about 90 cm in height, and can be distinguished by their orange upper chest.

誕生４５周年を迎えた世界で一番有名なペンギン「ピングー」とコラボレーションし、２０２５年１０月２日（木）～２０２６年２月２８日（土）の期間
「PINGU™ʼs SMILE PARTY in ADVENTURE WORLD」を開催中です。
アドベンチャーワールドは、国内最多となる８種約５００羽のペンギンが暮らしており、世界的にも希少なエンペラーペンギンの繁殖に成功している日本有数のペンギン飼育施設です。今回、ピングーとアドベンチャーワールドの初めてのコラボレーションにより、これまでにない特別な企画が誕生しました。
