Adventure World (Shirahama-cho, Wakayama Prefecture) will hold a special exhibition "Reviving Ancient Life: Wakayama Saurus Special Exhibition" featuring Wakayama Saurus, a new species of mosasaur excavated in Aritagawa Town, Wakayama Prefecture, from October 16, 2025 (Thursday), on the first floor of the Kaijukan in the park. The exhibition will be held for the first time on the first floor of the Kaijukan in the Park.
　This exhibition will feature a life-size replica skeletal specimen of the Wakayama Souriu (approximately 6 meters) and a biological model of the Wakayama Souriu (approximately 1.2 meters). In addition, a Wakayama Souriu robot, which was created by Adventure World staff and uses the latest robotic technology to reproduce a swimming form, will be on display from mid-November 2025, allowing visitors to experience the excitement of ancient life coming back to life in the modern age.
　This project is a four-way collaboration among Adventure World, Wakayama Museum of Nature (Mr. Masaaki Obara, Curatorial Section Chief), AFK Research Institute, LLC Robo Fossil Project (Mr. Toshiyasu Kondo, Representative), and Department of Robotics, School of Advanced Engineering, Nippon Institute of Technology (Mr. Hirokazu Yamagata, Associate Professor).
Under the themes of "learning," "surprise," and "enhancement of regional value," the "world-class life story" found in Wakayama will be presented as edutainment (education × entertainment) where science and excitement meet.

■企画展の見どころ
“古代の海を泳いだいのち”が、今によみがえる——。
ワカヤマソウリュウは、２００６年に有田川町で発見された全長約６メートルのモササウルス類で、アジア初の全身骨格化石として知られる世界的に貴重な標本です。 かつて太古の海を支配したその姿を、最新のロボット技術で現代によみがえらせ、化石として眠っていた「いのちの記憶」が動きを伴って蘇ります。そんな浪漫に満ちた瞬間を間近でご覧いただけます。 展示制作にはロボット制作に取り組むアドベンチャーワールドの社内サークル「ココロボ」も携わり、“いのちを感じる展示”を目指して“動く化石”をつくり上げました。見て、触れて、驚いて——そこから生まれる“学び”と“気づき”を届けるエデュテインメント（Education × Entertainment）の体験を通して、絶滅したいのち（過去）、今を生きる動物たち（現在）、そして未来へつながるいのち（未来）を感じていただけます。

「ココロボ」とは
パークで働くスタッフが、海の生き物をモチーフにしたアニマルロボットを手づくり。動物園で直接動物を観ることが叶わない方でも、動物を身近に感じていただける方法はないかと考え、社内サークル「ココロボ」を設立し【人も動物もしあわせな未来の創造】をテーマに様々な地域イベントで活躍しています。

■「ココロボ」のこれまでの活動
２０１９年にサークルを設立しドリームナイト・アット・ザ・ズーにてアニマルロボットふれあい体験を開始しました。その後、新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大の影響等を受け活動が制限されることもありましたが、２０２３年にはイベント出展が年間１０件を超え、年間１，５００名以上の方にアニマルロボットとのふれあい体験を提供しています。
