Panda Bamboo Project Children in Kishiwada City tried their hand at making bamboo feeders! Presented to Mantohi

2025年08月22日(金)

Adventure World has signed an "Adopt-a-Forest Agreement" with Kishiwada City in 2022 for the effective use of black forests (recycling of black resources) and the creation of forests to conserve biodiversity. We have concluded an "Adopt-a-Forest Agreement" with a volunteer group "Future Treasure! The children were invited to the park today (August 22) to experience and learn about the recycling of bamboo and animal welfare as an opportunity for their growth. This activity started in 2023 and is in its third year.

Bamboo trunks from Kishiwada City were used to make feeders (a feeding device designed to extend the time animals spend foraging and to allow them to express species-specific foraging behavior).

We fed muntjacs living in Safari World using a feeder and observed them feeding.
The baboons took the feeder away with them and ingeniously fed themselves by shaking it with interest and touching it with their fingers.

~The project is a partnership between the Osaka Prefectural Government and forest owners to promote forest development activities. The aim is to convert neglected and degraded forests into broadleaf forests with the participation of businesses and others in order to prevent global warming and secure vegetative diversity.

~About the "Treasure of the Future" project - About the project:
Children are the future's most precious treasures. All children have the right to happiness, and there is no child without a mission. We support mothers and fathers who are struggling day and night on the front line of this precious "child-rearing".
In the satoyama near us, while touching plants and animals and maintaining the trees, if we see someone struggling or having a hard time, we call out to them and encourage them. When we see someone who is happy, we join hands and rejoice together, sharing our hearts and minds.
The program started in June 2020, and is held one to three times a month.
