Adventure World welcomed a female mini hippo from NIFREL (Suita City, Osaka Prefecture) on April 7, 2025. Since her arrival, NIFREL veterinarians and curators have been visiting our park and working with our breeding staff to care for the mini-hippopotamus, giving top priority to her health and safety, and she has been spending time in the backyard getting used to her new environment.
Around mid-July, they began practicing spending time on the playground, and now that they are able to spend time calmly, they will be open to the public from Friday, August 1, 2025. On the first day of the public opening, the mini hippos will be given a watermelon, their favorite food!
