September through December is a special season as five pandas celebrate their birthdays. Adventure World (Shirahama-cho, Wakayama Prefecture) will celebrate the Happy Panda Season from September 4, with birthday events and other participatory and hands-on events featuring gourmet food, art, workshops, etc.
On September 18 (Friday), a female giant panda named Yuhama Yui Hin, a female giant panda, will celebrate her 4th birthday on Friday, September 18.
Yuhin, whose pointy head is her charm point, will be celebrated with artistic gifts made of snow and bamboo leaves, and four-colored ribbons of ice in honor of her 4th birthday. The event will be live-streamed on the official YouTube and Instagram.

Contents of the gift
・Paint Yuhama with snow and bamboo leaves, using the lawn as a canvas.
　Ribbon ice will be given as a gift in honor of the "Yui" in the name of the animals.

Born to father "Eimei" and mother "Raohin", weighing 197 g, the largest panda born at Adventure World He weighed 197 grams, the largest of all the pandas born at Adventure World. When Yuhin started walking at around 4 months of age, the sharp point on the top of his head gradually became more prominent, and it is still one of Yuhin's charm points today.


The thought behind the name "Yuhin"
We received 56,565 submissions during the 61-day name application period from October 1 to November 30, 2016. As a result of strict screening by the "Baby Panda Naming Committee," we decided on "Yuhama" (
) at the naming ceremony on December 6, 2016.

Yuhama was born in the beautiful and nature-rich "Shirahama, Wakayama, Japan.
We hope that Yuhama, together with the panda family spreading all over the world, will pass on to the next generation the precious things inherited from the "past. The name "Yui" is also a symbol of our wish to "connect" all the different values, cultures, languages, and species to create a sustainable "future" full of smiling faces.
