Exchanges with China

Beginning with the establishment of friendly prefecture-province relations
between Wakayama and Shandong, Adventure World has taken part in various
forms of exchanges with China for more than 30 years.

  • The Jinan Zoo in Shandong has sent over 18 animals from 4 species, including lesser pandas, and our park has sent 13 animals from 6 species, including elephants and giraffes.

  • Since 1994, a total of more than 70 staff members have been dispatched to the park from Chengdu Zoo and the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to assist with breeding management and research.

  • In 1996, a long-term dispatch training program was implemented to send our staff members to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in order to acquire necessary skills and knowledge. This program has offered more meaningful exchanges with local experts and has helped build effective relationships for future breeding research.

  • We have also established good relationships with the Chinese Embassy in Japan and the Chinese Consulate General in Osaka. Upon the birth of panda cubs in the park, we had the honor of receiving congratulatory messages from the Consulate General in Osaka.
