  • Kindai UniversitySigns Agreement on Industry-Academia Collaboration

    Adventure World x Kindai University
    Our agreement on industry-academia collaboration aims to use genetic resources on endangered and other animals to move ahead with further research efforts.

    This partnership between Kindai University, home of the world's first successful full-cycle aquaculture of bluefin tuna, and Adventure World will help facilitate industry-academia efforts, including joint exhibitions and studies on endangered animals, and revitalize local regions.

  • JR WestOperating Ad-wrapped Trains

    This is the Kuroshio express train which runs from Kyoto Station to Shingu Station in Wakayama. In collaboration with JR West, the Panda Kuroshio Smile Adventure Train began running in August 2017, and in July 2020 the Panda Kuroshio Sustainable Smile Train joined, both working to create a cycle of happiness and prosperity for our world and its people, animals, and natural environment.

  • McDonald'sOffers Plarail Trains for Happy Sets

    In collaboration with JR West, the miniature Panda Kuroshio Smile Adventure Train accompanied McDonald's Happy Sets as a complimentary toy. (Twice total, in November 2018 and November 2020)

  • Meiko BusOperating Ad-wrapped Buses

    With the cooperation of Meiko Bus, the Panda Shirahama Express—Smile Bus Connecting to the Future began operations in 2019. It typically runs directly between Osaka Station and Adventure World. The new Panda Shirahama Adventure Bus—Smile Bus Transporting Memories, ad-wrapped with images of the seven pandas from the park, began operations on roads in Shirahama in 2021. These new influencers carry both passengers and smiles around.

  • Hankai TramwayOperating Ad-wrapped Tram Cars

    A trolly car wrapped in designs based on Adventure World joined the Hankai Tramway line in 2006. Known as the "Pan-den," this tram car brings smiles to the people as it travels through streets of Osaka. Its design was revamped in 2019 to depict the merry and heartwarming lives of our panda family, bringing even more smiles to those who set eyes on it.

  • JR West and Takara Tomy ArtsPanda Kuroshio Choro-Q

    The Smile Adventure Train was launched in 2017 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of JR West in that year and the 40th anniversary of Adventure World in the following year. In collaboration with Takara Tomy Arts, this Choro-Q toy is sold exclusively at the park.

  • Meiko Bus and Takara Tomy ArtsPanda Smile Bus Choro-Q

    Adventure World and Meiko Bus collaborated to launch the fully ad-wrapped Panda Shirahama Express—Smile Bus Connecting to the Future on June 22, 2019. This Choro-Q toy is a collaboration with Takara Tomy Arts.

  • Takara Tomy ArtsPanda Bus Choro-Q

    In collaboration with Takara Tomy Arts, this Choro-Q toy is based on the bus that runs through Safari World at the Adventure World park. Its detailed design incorporates many panda-like features, such as the ears at the front, just like the real bus.

    Runs Adventure World Original Merchandise Shop

    Spring Travel Vibes—Adventure World in Tokyu Hands Umeda

    In a joint project with Tokyu Hands, a limited-time event featured 230 types of original park merchandise at Tokyu Hands Umeda under the title of "Celebrating Newborn Giant Pandas: Spring Trip Vibes—Adventure World in Tokyu Hands Umeda." (March-April 2021)

    Offering In-flight Free Gifts

    Special complimentary gifts (memo pads) for children given out on domestic flights

    In collaboration with Japan Airlines, complimentary gifts (memo pads) are offered for children on domestic flights bound for and departing from Tokyo (Haneda). The memo pad on the cover features Saihin, one of the pandas at Adventure World, and introduces six pandas on the back. (From July 27, 2020 while supplies last)

    In celebration of Aeon Mall Wakayama's seventh anniversary, a photo exhibition of animals living in Wakayama's rich natural environments was held at the mall.

    This event included a photo exhibition of animals thriving at Adventure World, talks with caring staff members from the park, a hands-no program where participants could paint eggshells from birds at the park, and sessions for both parents and children to enjoy together.

    West Nippon Expressway Service Holdings Company Limited

    Holds Adventure World and Hanwa Expressway Smartphone Stamp Rally

    In collaboration with the expressway service company, a stamp-collecting campaign was held under the title of “Adventure World and Hanwa Expressway Smartphone Stamp Rally.” Participants collected stamps as they traveled along the Hanwa Expressway to and from Adventure World. (March 24-April 22, 2021)

    Panda Family Celebrate the New Year
    With Special New Year's Postcard Set

    Japan Post offered an original New Year’s postcard set featuring our panda family (2020). This set included six postcards carrying the photos of as many giant pandas at the park, and was made available at the park’s gift shops and official online store. Through the cards our panda family celebrated the New Year and brought smiles to all those dear to the senders. (2020)

  • Koki ShokoPanda Mooncakes

    Panda Mooncakes on Sale
    In Collaboration With Koki Shoko

    The mooncakes are available in two traditional Chinese flavors: sweet white bean and chestnut paste. The packaging for this item is the first among the park’s merchandise to use a type of paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The council, aiming at protecting the forest environment, asses the management and logging of forests to ensure these operations are performed with careful consideration to the local community, and the certification means the products and their materials are derived from such forests.

    This collaboration with Wakayama's long-running Japanese sweets company Suruga-ya started to celebrate the birth of the giant panda Fuhin. Panda Yokan is sold in packages featuring seven adorable pandas, and available in three flavors: smooth sweet bean, matcha, and chunky sweet bean.

    In collaboration with Ueno Fugetsudo we offer panda and penguin-themed gaufre. Enjoy the traditional tastes of vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate-flavored cream sandwiched between two very thin and crispy wafers.

    In collaboration with Fukubishi, a local confectioner founded in 1933, we have offered kagerou, a famous Wakayama treat, wrapped in original Adventure World packaging at the park’s souvenir shops.

  • TSURUMI Children's Hospice

    Hold Wakuwaku Smile Day—Together With Smiles

    Since 2018 we have brought animals with us to TSURUMI Children's Hospice (TCH) to hold cheer-up events for children there. TCH is a place where children suffering from life threatening illnesses, as well as their families, can feel relaxed and at home. It also serves as a base point for interactions with local residents. We hope that these events can serve as opportunities for more people to learn about TCH and create moments when smiles appear on their faces.

  • Dream Day at the Zoo

  • Since 2017 we have joined in the world-wide "Dream Night at the Zoo" event, renting out the park after business hours and inviting children with disabilities and their families to experience the park in a special way. In 2021 we expanded this program to offer full-day private rentals that we call "Dream Day at the Zoo." Our partner companies and numerous volunteers help us carry out this event each year. Working alongside the local community, we hope to create a society in which everyone can deepen their understanding of others and offer aid to one another.

    What Is Dream Night at the Zoo?

    This international program invites children with disabilities, along with their families, to visit zoos and aquariums to enjoy without any worry or concern. It began at the Rotterdam Zoo in 1996, and is now held in about 40 countries around the globe, including Japan where over 25 facilities participate.

  • Wakayama Traffic Safety Dream Ambassador

    As part of a quarterly traffic safety initiative, Saihin finished her three-year term as Wakayama Traffic Safety Dream Ambassador, passing the title on to Fuhin in 2022.

    Wakayama Prefecture holds a quarterly traffic safety initiative, carrying out a number of different promotional activities in an attempt to reduce traffic accidents. Representing local people’s wishes for children to avoid involvement in any traffic accidents and grow up safe and healthy to be able to pursue their dreams, in 2019 the giant panda Saihin was named Wakayama Traffic Safety Dream Ambassador and served for three years as a representative. In 2022, the Dream Ambassador title was passed from Saihin on to Fuhin, who now serves as the second Wakayama Traffic Safety Dream Ambassador, taking up all recent initiatives.
