- 30 years after the start of the joint project to protect giant pandas, 17 pandas have been successfully bred and raised.

In September 1994, two giant pandas from the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Base in China arrived at Adventure World, marking the start of the first long-term international giant panda conservation joint project between China and an overseas zoo. The joint project for giant panda conservation has experienced many setbacks, but with the efforts of both Japan and China, it has overcome various difficulties and is now in progress.
As of June 2025, 17 pandas have been successfully bred in 12 breeding attempts, and more than 20 offspring have been born. We have become the facility with the largest number of breeding results among the facilities conducting the International Giant Panda Conservation Joint Project.
