Seeds of "experience" in the "heart

The Institute conducts training programs in Japan and abroad to give students a broader perspective and to improve their knowledge, skills, and sense of global competence. We strive to provide our students with as wide a range of opportunities for experience as possible.
The first training program was held in Singapore in 2024.
We visited the Singapore Zoo, Bird Paradise, River Wonder, and other facilities, and took a backyard tour.
They also visited the Night Safari, the only zoo in the world that is open at night, where they enjoyed a streetcar ride and an owl show.
The Australia Study Tour is a program that began in 2007. The unique feature of the animal facilities in Australia is that they mainly keep and exhibit animals from their home country, Australia, which is different from Japan and the U.S. The program has been held in Australia since October 2009. Since the Australia Training Program began in October 2009, we have partnered with Hills School, an international school in Queensland, to offer cultural exchanges and life experiences on a vast farm. The program also includes a backyard tour of a koala sanctuary and a wide variety of other activities.
For the first time since the opening of the university, we held a training program in Hokkaido.
With the cooperation of Hokkaido University, we were able to learn many things that we would not normally be able to experience.
In 2021, continuing from the previous year, the students learned many things that they would never have learned in their normal school life through training and various experiences in nature in their hometown of Wakayama and in the Hokkaido University research forest.
In 2020, the overseas training program was cancelled due to the Corona disaster, and the training was held at Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture, our hometown.
It was a good opportunity to take a fresh look at Japanese culture.
We stayed at a lodge and experienced many things that we normally cannot experience, such as sutra copying, making prayer beads, and field work.
During the 2018 U.S. training program, we traveled to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, where we visited zoos, aquariums, and theme parks.
In Silicon Valley, we also visited companies that are active around the world. They entered the park before it opened and were given an original backyard tour of the institute.
At Moorpark College, the two-day program was greatly stimulated by the exchange with like-minded students.
