We see them born, ever so small, raise them to the mighty sizes they can grow into, and hope to leverage our joint breeding research with China to strive for a sustainable world and future where the coming generations can witness these creatures as well.

ABOUT
The Japan-China joint research on giant panda breeding began in 1994, aiming to create a sustainable system for breeding pandas. The program has since seen 12 successful breedings and reared 17 pandas, as well as helped revitalize the local area by transforming Shirahama into the "Panda Town" as it is today.
