Through television documentaries, publications, and other media outlets,
Since September 2016, we have been distributing news domestically through Kyodo News PR Wire and have received a lot of media coverage. In particular, important news, such as the birth of a baby panda, was distributed overseas as well.
In March and April 2017, NHK broadcast the documentary program "Close-Up Today+: The World's Attention! Panda Parenting: Close-up, 180 Days of Love and Tears" and "NHK Special: Miracle of the Panda Family
~The Miraculous Panda Family: A Tale of Love and Tears" were broadcast nationwide and were viewed by a total of 12.5 million people. In addition to showing the adorable baby pandas, the program also included the results of the joint project to protect giant pandas to date and the dedicated support of the staff to the parents and their cubs. The results of the project were widely publicized.
In January 2020, the documentary program "Family History," which unravels the family roots of celebrities, featured Saihama, born in 2018 at 75 grams, and was the first program ever produced with an animal as the main character. The program, which also deepened understanding of the Park's panda family history and species conservation, was viewed by approximately 7 million people.
In 2007, we published our own book, "Panda no Himitsu" (The Secret of Pandas). In 2015, the company also published "Adventure World: Let's Make More Pandas! and in 2017, "The World's Greatest Panda Family: The Large Family of Pandas at Wakayama Adventure World" and "HELLO PANDA
~Pandas at Adventure World" and other books, including a series of photo books, were also published. The panda family has also been featured in many illustrated books and magazines for children.
