Shirahama-cho, Nishimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture, is located on the warm Jii Peninsula, with excellent natural and climatic conditions, and has been developing research on the care and breeding of the great bear cat. Shirahama Town has become a famous "castle of big bears", and the government has a poster in its main building that says "Shirahama, the castle of big bears", and you can see pictures of big bears everywhere in the town, and the people there love them.
