Four giant pandas, Ryohama, Yuhama, Saihama, and Kaedehama, will soon return to Chengdu, China.
We are pleased to announce that four giant pandas living in Adventure World will return to Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Station in Sichuan, China around the end of June 2025.
The specific schedule will be announced after the official decision is made.

2. background on returning home
In August of this year, the contract period for the ongoing joint project to protect giant pandas between Japan and China expired, and as a result of discussions between the two countries, the four giant pandas, Raohin, Yuhin, Saibin, and Fuhin, will return to Japan in June, when the temperature is relatively cooler, to avoid putting a burden on them. We decided to return to Japan in June, when the temperature is relatively cooler.
The experts at the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Base have suggested that it would be desirable for Liangbin to spend a peaceful life in a relaxed environment in China, where facilities and medical care are available for elderly pandas to live in peace and security. The children, 8 pandas, are now in China.
The children, 8-year-old Yuhama, 6-year-old Saihama, and 4-year-old Kaedehama, will return to China to find partners for future breeding.
We are sending the four pandas back to China with the hope that they will live healthy and happy lives, and that each of them will play a role in bringing new life into the world.
3. quarantine
The four animals will be quarantined prior to departure.
The quarantine is scheduled to last approximately one month prior to departure, during which time the animals will be open to the public through glass.

4. Future
We would like to thank you for watching over the Joint Project for Giant Panda Conservation for the past 30 years.
We hope that the four giant pandas born in Shirahama, including "Ryohama," "Yuhama," "Saihama," and "Kaedehama," will live happily in China and that the circle of giant pandas will continue to expand.
Last September marked the 30th anniversary of the joint project to protect giant pandas, which started in 1994.
We strongly hope that the joint project will continue, and we will continue discussions with the Chinese side to realize it in order to make further contributions to the protection of the giant panda.

◾️ Rahama

She is the first giant panda born in Adventure World. As a youngster, she was very naughty and loved to play with tires and balls on the playground. Ryahama raised many children as a kind mother and became a mother panda as good as Meimei.
◾️ Yuhin
Date of birth: September 18, 2016 (age 8)
Place of birth: Adventure World
Gender：Female
Yuhin weighed 197 grams at birth, making her the largest baby panda ever born at the park. The name "Yuhama" is a symbol of our hope that the panda family, which extends all over the world, will pass on the precious things from the past to the next generation and create a sustainable future full of smiles by "uniting" all the different values, cultures, languages and species. The pointy top of his head is his charm. This feature has been noticeable since he was about 4 months old when he started walking on his own.

Date of birth: August 14, 2018 (age 6)

Gender：Female
Weighing only 75 grams at birth, Saibin is the smallest panda ever born at the park. Her small size and the love of her mother and father, Ryohama, have brought courage and hope to people. The name "Saihama" is a wish that she will continue to add color to everyday life and create a bright and positive future Smile (Happiness). The children have grown up without any serious illness or injury and are showing their good health.
◾️ Maple Beach (Fuhin)
Date of birth: November 22, 2020 (age 4)
Place of birth: Adventure World
Gender: female
Its birth in the midst of the spread of the new coronavirus brought bright hope and healing to many people. The name "Kaedehama" (meaning "maple beach" in Japanese) reflects our hope that, like the beautifully changing maple trees in autumn, Kaede will be loved and warmly welcomed by many people as she matures and flourishes. The baby was so active right from birth that it almost rolled off its mother's stomach.
