Our giant panda, Eimei, passed away peacefully in January 2025, ending his 32-year life.

Eimei was born on September 14, 1992, at Beijing Zoo in China, and came to Adventure World on September 6, 1994, for a joint Japan-China breeding research program.
After arriving, Eimei became a father to 6 cubs with Meimei and 10 cubs with Rauhin, totaling 16 offspring.
In February 2023, Eimei traveled to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China with his daughters, Ohin and Tohin. He continued to live peacefully there, receiving dedicated care from expert staff.

However, starting in January 2025, Eimei began showing signs of fatigue and loss of appetite. Despite the tireless efforts of the veterinary and animal care team, he quietly passed away due to multiple organ failure.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to all the staff at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, all related parties, and all the fans who supported Eimei's health and loved him throughout the years.

Eimei's life made immense contributions to giant panda conservation and breeding, and he also played a crucial role as a bridge of friendship between Japan and China. His legacy will forever be etched in our hearts and passed on to future generations.
We will never forget Eimei's graceful presence and warm gaze. May he rest in peace.

【Eimei's Achievements】
● Successfully bred naturally for the first time in 2001 (at 9 years old)
● Had the ability to successfully mate with females during their estrus, becoming the father of 16 cubs born at the park.
● Successfully bred naturally at 28 years old, despite the typical breeding age for males being up to 20 years old.
● In China, artificial insemination using Eimei's semen resulted in the birth of one male cub, contributing to genetic diversity.
● So far, 13 of Eimei's offspring have moved to China, and 4 of them have successfully bred, leaving over 20 descendants.
● In 2011, he was honored for promoting Wakayama Prefecture nationwide and was awarded the title of Wakayama Prefecture Meritorious Peer, along with Meimei and Rauhin.
● In 2018, he received the Japan Animal Grand Prize for his contributions to species conservation.
● Appointed as a "Japan-China Friendship Envoy" in 2022 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China.
