red kangaroo (Macropos rufus)

They are the largest species of marsupials. Small groups of kangaroos come together to form large herds, but they are not related by family or blood, and they vary in sex and age. Kangaroo boxing, which can be seen in the herds, is a fight between males over females. At birth, babies are about 2 cm in length and move into their mother's pouch on their own as soon as they are born, living in the pouch for about 8 months.
