bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

Famous as the national bird of the United States, it is a large eagle that can reach 2 meters when its wings are spread. The young bird is dark brown all over, but its head and tail turn white after it reaches the age of three. They have excellent eyesight, which is said to be eight times that of humans.
