Accepting applications for the class of 2026

During my time at the institute, I learned not only "animal husbandry," but also "communication skills," "public presentation skills," "how to convey things," and "document preparation skills," which are essential for living in society. I myself was not very good at explaining things in front of people when I first entered the school, but now I can say that I am good at it ︕. I believe that the greatest strength of AWS Zoological Institute is that we are able to put this into practice in the classroom. Currently, I am in charge of keeping cheetahs, brown bears, and muntjacs as a carnivore keeper, and I also work as a tour guide to show many guests how fascinating animals are. I am also in charge of providing on-site training for AWS students as part of the training of future zookeepers, and it is my job to tell them everything that I feel I needed to know when I started working as a zookeeper in the future. I am currently working as a keeper at "Gokatsu" in Mie Prefecture, Japan. I am currently working at Gokatsurake Animal Park in Mie Prefecture. At this park, I had the valuable experience of being involved in the renewal of the zoo. Currently, I am in charge of goats and am working hard on seasonal health management and Husbandry training. I was also able to witness the birth of my first goat, and I am working on adjusting the feeding content and acclimating the goats to the herd so that the newborn goats can grow up safely. I would like to continue to improve my skills by interacting with people from parks all over the country. Although our time at the institute is short, we have a lot to learn about personal life, practical training, etc., and it is important to be self-motivated. I feel that this experience will be very useful for me later on in my life and will give me the power to act proactively. However, I am still able to work with many of the people I met during my time at the institute. In my graduation research, we had some disagreements and fights, but I think I was able to acquire my own opinions and respect for others by being able to express my true feelings to each other. I am currently working at Animal Land in Adventure World as a breeder and manager of pinnipeds, participating in animal actions and attractions in the park, and working as a camera operator. I hope that I can be a part of the opportunity for someone else to have dreams and interests in this place that has supported me and made me have dreams, I am currently in charge of pinnipeds such as sea lions, seals, and walruses, and birds such as penguins and pelicans. My duties include animal husbandry management and animal commentary. I became fascinated with marine animals when I was a child through a killer whale performance I saw at Kamogawa Sea World, and I aspired to become a keeper at this place. Now that I am actually working here, I have a lot to learn from the animals and my seniors every day, and I truly enjoy and find it rewarding to deal with animals that have their own unique personalities. I will continue to work hard to become a keeper who can be close to the people and animals I interact with ︕Saaya Sugiyama, Daiki Harada, Seikazu Ioka, Mana Sekiya, Student AgeStudent AgeStudent AgeStudent AgeStudent AgeStudent Age13th year Adventure World 21st year Kamogawa Sea World AWS Animal Academy Message from Graduates
